Last week was a difficult week for fantasy players, especially Quarterback’s and Running Backs. Our picks in the article last week were focused for the longer term and your championships and we feel confident they will deliver down the stretch. However this week we want to focus more on Week 12 streamer options that will help you get the win you need to move one step closer to the playoffs. If you are on 5 or 6 wins, then it’s now time to gamble to get into the championship playoff bracket. Also with the Rams and Chiefs on bye, fantasy league leading teams might need a streaming option as they chase their number 1 or 2 seed in their league and that elusive week 14 bye week if your league has that option in play. Whatever the case might be, these are the players you need to add:
Jameis Winston (9% Owned)- Has been named the starter after an inspired second half vs Giants. The organisation needs to decide on Winston and Winston is playing for his $20 million contract next season. His numbers for less than 1 half against the Giants was 12/16 for 199 yards and TDs with 1 Interception. If the Bucs Quarterbacks (Fitzpatrick and Winston) were melted down and mashed together into 1 QB they have scored more fantasy points (248) than Drew Brees (240) in standard scoring this season. Against a banged up 49ers he could have a huge day Sunday as this will be a shootout game. He is a must start in most leagues this week.
Theo Riddick (32% owned)- Podcast favourite Kerryon Johnson is a huge doubt for Thursday’s Thanksgiving game. We think Detroit uses the short passing game as an extension of the run game, adding a lot of opportunities for Riddick this week. He was targeted 7 times in the game and he will also get more than 1 carry this week. He does have a low floor, but the ceiling has been raised for this week, especially as the Lions will need to put the ball in the air more, getting back to the game Matty Stafford is known for. Look at Riddick getting a touchdown this week as the Lions will need to be more creative on offense, if they are to stand a chance against the Bears rampant pass rush.
Tre’Quan Smith (25% Owned)- Smith rebounded in an enormous way in Week 11, hauling in 10 of 13 targets for 157 yards and a TD. It will be hard to trust Smith as a consistent producer but he has a sky-high ceiling in this Saints offense. If you are on that 5 or 6 win bubble, then this is your number 1 option this week, unless you need a QB. He could only score 2 points, but he is the only guy on the waiver wire for a WR or RB that has the potential to get to 15-20 points consistently every week, if he sees the targets. With two of the three high power offenses on bye this week the Saints are the standout team to watch. Give us a slice of the pie all day long this holiday weekend.
Cameron Brate (20% owned)- With O.J. Howard picking up an ankle injury and Jameis Winston being the starter, this could be the only top 5 TE option on waivers this week. The Bucs offence is still hot and Brate could get 13-15 points if he goes back to being the red zone target he has been in recent years. Keep an eye on O.J Howard’s health, but expect Brate to get more red zone targets this week against a banged up 49ers team.
Colts (26% owned)- They are flying. Luck is showing the top talent he is and the DST is helping him out. They sacked Mariota and Gabbert 5 times and got 2 picks to boot in Week 11 vs the Titans. The team to stream, and not just this week, as they have a favourable schedule coming in. The Dolphins aren’t sure who their QB is, they are lacking at Wide Receiver due to injuries, and their lead Running Back is Frank Gore. This is a dream match-up for a sneaky good defence, especially if Luck gets them up early and the Fins start throwing deep to play catch up.
